Join the sixth edition of 'It is not enough to be… a woman', a programme exploring women's entrepreneurship and innovation. This year's conference, 'What is a startup and why is it for everyone?', will take place in Kraków on 22 May and examine the startup idea while helping women who would like to become actively involved in an innovative business of their own.

Doniec Górecki & Partnerzy experts Michał Górecki and Edyta Woźniak will take an active part as speakers and workshop leaders.

According to the organiser, the Foundation for Strategic Studies:

'Previous editions identified the needs of women in Małopolska in terms of participation, education and support for career choices. Available research shows that women remain very underrepresented in startups, despite being just as creative and entrepreneurial as their male colleagues.'

Conference speakers:

Edyta Woźniak

has over a decade of banking experience and effectively advises on finding suitable, diverse financing for ventures. She explains how to match funding instruments to specific activities and projects. At the conference, she will discuss funding opportunities at different stages of startup development and lead the 'Sell your idea' workshop.

Michał Górecki

specialises in company law and private equity/venture capital investment. He represents Doniec Górecki & Partnerzy, a provider of professional business services. At the conference, he will speak as a legal and business expert on startups, using the example of Silicon Valley's internationally known 500 Startups, particularly its 500 Women initiative: https://500.co/500-women/.

Marta Bradshaw

is the originator and co-owner of eateway.com, a platform bringing people together around home cooking. Several hundred cooks worldwide are already listed, and users choose a dinner and date through the site. Cooking for strangers has been well received, with gatherings introducing new flavours and people from different countries. Born in Kraków and trained as a sculptor, Marta Bradshaw founded the English-language Krakow Post. She hosted her first dinner for strangers in 2015 and dreams of shared cooking bringing people together worldwide.

Ania Jakubowski

a Polish and Canadian citizen, was General Manager of The Coca-Cola Company for Poland and the Baltic states until June 2016. Previously, she worked for Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company in various countries. She is now a management board member of Bank Millennium SA and teaches creative approaches to business. At the conference, she will lead the 'Do not be afraid to act' workshop.

Paweł Nowak

is currently CEO of Contellio and previously worked on PressPad, TurboTranslations and Untitled Kingdom. Personally, he is someone who deals with risk. Over ten years ago, he began a blog that became Poland's leading blog in its category. In 2011, he stopped writing it to launch online products. Years of programming and business experience help him launch and support early projects needing minimal code and a wealth of good ideas for promotion and customer acquisition.

Bogumiła Matuszewska-Wojtyła

co-founded DrOmnibus, a startup creating applications for children with behavioural and developmental disorders. She previously served on the board of the Hipoterapia Foundation and has many years of experience managing marketing projects in digital agencies. She helps startups build business models, prepare business plans and raise investment. DrOmnibus creates modern multimedia tools supporting therapy and education for children with special educational needs, as well as parents, teachers and therapists.
