The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development has announced a call under which start-ups can apply for funding for legal support. The project aims to provide legal assistance to young businesses entering into relationships with investors and business partners. The programme is funded from the state budget.
Funding recipients
The project is aimed at micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that have operated in Poland for no more than five years and have generated revenue for no more than three years.
Scope of support
Programme beneficiaries can receive legal assistance through advisory services covering, among other things:
- preparation of business contract templates, analysis of contracts with business partners and support in negotiations;
- legal consultations and advice;
- legal support for the investment process (preparation of agreements and support in negotiations with investors)
Application procedure
Applications for funding will open on 12 July 2022.
The funding application must include a letter of intent from an investor confirming their interest in starting or continuing an investment process in the start-up. A letter of intent template is available under the ‘Documents’ tab on the programme website (https://www.parp.gov.pl/component/grants/grants/wsparcie-prawne-dla-start-upow#dokumenty).
Application ranking
Applications will be ranked according to:
- the indicator ‘Enterprises that have introduced innovations as a percentage of all enterprises’ (a start-up based in a voivodeship with a lower indicator value will rank higher);
- the unemployment rate in the district where the applicant is based (a start-up based in a district with higher unemployment will rank higher);
- the date and time the application is submitted.
The first two factors are beyond our control, but it is worth focusing on the last one and submitting the application as soon as possible.
As a law firm selected by PARP through a public procurement procedure, we provide both legal services under this programme and comprehensive support in submitting and handling applications for this assistance.
